Onomatopoeia

 

We had to draw fireworks and then describe how they looked.

We were learning to use onomatopoeia to make our writing more effective.

It was hard to use these words in my writing because I haven't used words like that before.  It did help me to think about the sounds that fireworks make when I was doing my writing.'

Next time I need to put a little more description and detail in my writing.

Te Whare Tapa Wha

 

We had to make a slide that showed how we keep the walls of our whare strong.

It was a challenge to show Whaiwhakaaro and think about myself in that way because I have never done that before.  Once I got started I understood what I needed to do.  Next time I will find better images to show how my family support me.

Then and Now

 

I am a researcher because I was part of the group that wrote and asked questions of our expert Mrs Leggett. Mrs Leggett was a good source of information because she lived a long time ago and told us about her time as a child.  I could have added more detail to my ideas but I like my presentation because doing it helped me to learn me to learn about the past.

I am a communicator because I was able to write down my ideas and I added pictures that matched my ideas.  Then I used mote to read my ideas so everyone can learn about the past.

I showed kaiwhakarite by asking for help, I focused on my writing and thought of my ideas. 

I found a weakness for me was remembering what Mrs Leggett and it was tricky to read the interview show so, next time I think I should ask if we can use the ipad to record the interview so that I can listen to the information to help me.

Early Arrivals in New Zealand

We were learning about the people who were first to come to New Zealand and I chose to learn about the whalers.

I found  it easy to find images to add to my research.

I found  it hard to connect my ideas for my story about the whalers.

I really enjoyed talking and learning about the whalers in New Zealand.

Next time I need to see if I can find even more information to share.

Change Poem

We were learning about what changes during our lives.

I found it easy to find the background for my writing.

I found it hard to Write all my ideas in to the poem.

I really enjoyed making the background neon coloured.

Next time I need to get more information from the class brainstorm sheets.

LIFE IN AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND

 We were learning about  life in Aotearoa. 

I found it easy to make the chicken

I found it hard to write about the animal and describe it.

I enjoyed making the animal because I got to use poly line.

Next time I need to add more details to me chicken.

 A beautiful day in New York near the Statue of Liberty and  a big sand storm came and hit the big statue of Liberty and then all of the Statue of Liberty some of it turned yellow.

                                                         Now the big Sandstorm made the Statue of Liberty yellow and now we                                                          have to paint the Statue of Liberty again but it will take a while.                                                                        By lucas thompson

good vs bad

         

 

 

 we were learning to make a book creator and to write a bad comment and a good comment and to have fun making a Book Creator and you can choose if you want a buddy or a character to be in your little Book Creator.

i found it easy to make the Book Creator and to write the speech bubbles and make the background pretty and make the volume my voice.

I found it hard to do the volume cos everyone else was talking around me and I found it hard to choose how much speech I was I'm going to have in each one

next time I need to make backgrounds a little bit better and make some more speech bubbles so then it makes it feel more good of a comment and a little bit loose speech bubbles on the bed comments

 I was learning to make a trailer with books .I found to easy-to-use the powtoons because I used it before I found it hard to a book because I love a lot of books because I had so much of my favourite books.Next time I might need to add a little bit more detail in the picture like more animals and people and more slides.
